The quality of the mug and color is beyond my expectations, but the mug has a very weird smell and makes a very weird taste when I used it in making hot drinks. I bought a lot of ceramic mugs and never experienced this before.

Rest assured, our mugs undergo a thorough firing process to ensure they are safe for hot drinks and food.
The scent you’re detecting is not a usual occurence, but it can happen, and might be due to the mug being new. To address this, we recommend washing it with a solution of vinegar and water, or running it through the dishwasher. This should help eliminate any residual odors from the manufacturing and/or shipping process. If the issue persists, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to assist further.
